Developing Our Personal Performance
To survive and thrive in today’s competitive environment, managers need to develop their personal performance, as well as professional performance. Management Coaching dramatically increases personal performance in direct correlation with established organizational goals by helping individuals understand the impact they have up, down, and across the organization. If desired, participants will have an opportunity to have 360 degree assessments conducted on them in advance of the program. Using leadership effectiveness assessment tools, 360° feedback, and hypothetical situation analyses; participants will learn the principles and value of management coaching (for themselves and their staff).

A Different Approach to Leadership Development
Management Coaching is an intensive short-term process that helps valued managers:

  • Identify and change behaviors that interfere with maximum performance
  • Understand how certain behaviors can effect an individual’s long term success
  • Adapt by learning new techniques for dealing with issues in the workplace

Management Coaching is particularly helpful for the person whose behavior is getting in the way and who may be putting his or her long term success within the organization at risk, particularly for:

  • The person who has always been a solid performer… even a star; or for
  • The person who the company has confidence in and for whom it wants to provide additional support and development coaching.

What is the Process?
There are typically five phases to Management Coaching:

  1. Pre Coaching: Initial meeting to discuss the program and to customize expected results

  2. Information Gathering:
    360° evaluations (from peers, subordinates, boss)
    Leadership assessment testing (by participant)

  3. Feedback and Coaching:
    One-on-One sessions with the participant
    Customized training on selected topics addressing areas needing improvement

  4. Action Planning: Joint meeting with participant and boss (if appropriate)

  5. Follow-up Monitoring: Establishment of specific plans

All phases are conducted in a sensitive and confidential environment and are personalized for each individual and situation.

The Results
Management Coaching results in cost savings to the company, retention of competent staff, enhanced teamwork, higher productivity, and improved coaching and development of staff.
